MediaTek has officially announced the launch of its new flagship chipset, the Dimensity 9500. This is the best-performing chipset, setting new standards in advanced AI capabilities, gaming, and power efficiency. This flagship chipset is designed with the next generation of smartphones in mind.
The Dimensity 9500 is a groundbreaking third-generation “all big core” CPU design that prioritizes both raw performance and efficiency. It includes one Ultra Core clocked at 4.21GHz, three C1-Premium cores, and four C1-Performance cores. MediaTek says the chip has 32% more single-core performance and 17% more multi-core performance than the Dimensity 9400. Up to 55% better Ultra-core peak power efficiency at peak loads. Premier Armv9.3 support with new SME2 instructions for increased AI perception performance and ML efficiency.
The Dimensity 9500 is aided by the new Arm G1-Ultra GPU in delivering graphics performance. This is neither a rendering unit nor a new platform for a new generation of mobile gaming experiences. Arm G1-Ultra delivers up to 33% increased peak performance and an astronomical 42% boost in power efficiency compared to the last generation.
The Dimensity 9500 platform is backed by LPDDR5X memory and contains one significant breakthrough: the industry’s very first support for 4-channel UFS 4.1 storage. It is designed to eliminate system bottlenecks and ensure that the raw power of the CPU and GPU is put to full use. MediaTek claims that this technology doubles read/write speeds, which has a direct impact by making the user experience more responsive, with apps opening faster and large files loading in a snap.
