Motorola’s next flagship, the Motorola Edge 70 5G, is generating a lot of buzz among tech fans. Leaks and renders have already spilled in recent times, revealing a complete redesign, a new “Moto AI” button, and a rumored global release in early 2026. It comes hot on the heels of the phone’s Chinese version, the Moto X70 Air, which was teased recently.

The leaked renders available here show a sharp contrast from the curved-screen model that has been a hallmark of the Edge series. The Motorola Edge 70 is shown with a flat screen and a flatter frame, giving it a sleeker and modern appearance. While this is a change of design philosophy for the Edge series, it adheres to an industry trend that is just now setting in. The phone is also described as “impossibly thin,” a feature Motorola has been hyping.

The renders also reveal two new Pantone color options: “Gadget Gray” and “Lily Pad” (a light green). Both of them feature distinctive colored rings around the camera lenses and a new, dedicated “Moto AI” button on the side, an unmistakable sign of Motorola’s increasing focus on AI integration.
While official specs remain under wraps, leaks point to a powerhouse of a phone. The Motorola Edge 70 is expected to be fueled by the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, ensuring flagship-level performance.
Motorola Edge 70 5G is expected to be the global version of the Moto X70 Air that will be launched in China soon. As for the global release, leaks suggest that it could arrive in the first quarter of 2026.
